Hearts for Haiti Reuses SJRMC Pillowcases

Little girls in Haiti will soon be wearing sundresses sponsored by SJRMC.

In early March, Carla Bice, Manger of the Sister Maura Brannick, CSC, Health Center, is headed to Haiti on a mission trip for the eighth year in a row.

Carla is active with Hearts for Haiti, a group sponsored by the United Methodist Church. For two weeks the group will stay in Haiti – half working on a building project and the other half on providing medical care and needs.

In the past, SJRMC has donated items for the trip. This year, those donations will include towels, washcloths, baby kits and pillowcases. With the hundreds of pillowcases, Hearts for Haiti was able to make more than 50 sundresses to give to Haitian girls in the community.

All of us here at SJRMC wish Carla and Hearts for Haiti the best and very safe travels.
